Got diligence?

I have been doing a lot of research on the topic of diligence lately. It is one of the many qualities that my husband posseses which I admire greatly- mostly since it is an attribute that I struggle with. For example, why is it so difficult for me to be diligent in housework? It is kind of boring doing the same things over and over again. I would like to hear your thoughts on the subject of diligence. Also, any ideas on how to make housework more entertaining are welcome.

I highly recommend being in your 3rd trimester for getting housework done. :) I seems to be working for me. :)
Actually, I'm a deciple of The Fly Lady, but I'm still a fluttering fly baby. It is more fun when Bo helps out, it's just not as effective sometimes (especially now that he likes cleaning so much he makes extra messes and then fights with me over who gets to clean it up. And he points out everything dirty now and says "mess" or now "messy" in his cute little munchkin voice. But he prefers cleaning spills and food type messes to picking up his toys- though if you get him singing the "Ceen up Ceen up" song and tell him we're playing "IN" (in which we throw the toys IN to the toy box), he's pretty good. He just doesn't seek out the opportunities to clean like that without a little prompting.
So to answer your question, I have no idea. :)
BTW do you ever get out this way anymore now that your folks are gone? I miss ya, and I'm insane between baby, Bo, and new house insanity, but I need a Dana break. :) Let me know!

when matt and i were first married, we both HATED doing dishes and they would pile up in the sink and on the counter until we had no more clean dishes and then we would make a pact to do it together. after a while a realized it was pretty much my responsibility and i had chosen my role as house wife and future mother. so I prayed that i wouldn't hate it so much and after a while it worked. I still don't like it, but at least i don't hate it. =) other than that, it doesn't seem to be too bad. I actually like folding and putting away the kids clothes because they are so little and cute!

I don't think there is any real way to make house cleaning fun. I generally listen to my MP3 player while I am cleaning the condo, but I don't have kids to mother either, so.....
